Merino Victoria is the official website for registered stud Merino breeders in Victoria, Australia.

Merinos are profitable sheep - versatile and hardy. They make up the major component of both the woolgrowing and prime lamb industry.

Victorian Merino genetics have demonstrated outstanding performances in exhibitions, sire evaluations, wether trials and ram sales. Victorian Merinos are proven performers in premium wool quality with Merino ewes providing good self replacement flock options (without sacrificing wool quality) for breeders targeting the Merino lamb and meat markets.

Despite the low national sheep numbers, Australian Merinos continue to be dominant in the industry. MLA data in 2003 indicated that over 75% of lambs dropped in Australia are influenced by Merino genetics.

The Australian Merino is a great success story in the breeding of sheep; hardy, versatile all-purpose; capable of surviving in the harsh regions of Australia as well as on high rainfall improved pastures.

VSMSBA has formed an alliance partnership with WFI insurance

In order to maintain a viable and sustainable Association we have recently been looking to other potential income sources. One such opportunity has recently arisen with Wesfarmers General Insurance Ltd (WFI) for the VSMSBA to enter into an Alliance Partnership.
